+ Energy Healing
Energy Healing is a technique that clears, energises, harmonises and balances the recipients energy system through gentle touch. The client can benefit on subtle and emotional levels, as well as in their general and physical well-being.
Energy Healing can employ the principles of Reiki, Reflexology, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and Acupuncture. Other lesser known alternative therapies are also used, including Chakra Balancing, Flower and Vibrational Essences, Crystal Healing and Colour Therapy. Practitioners combine intuitive skills with their practical and theoretical skills.
The energy systems of the body (aura, chakras and meridians) are connected energetically to our physical organs, glands and bodily systems. When the energy supplied to these bodily systems is disrupted, the body organs and systems are less able to defend against disease and injury.
In the same way, the health of our energy systems also determines our mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. If our energy systems are disrupted or blocked we are less able to cope, we feel stressed, which in turn has a negative impact on our physical systems. Over a prolonged period this leads to ill health or dis-ease. If our energy systems are clear and balanced we will be in a better position to deal with situations and circumstances that might otherwise be perceived as a stress.
Recognising disease as a positive message is an important part of the healing process. It is our body's way of telling us that something in our lives is out of balance and needs attention. If we don't pay attention to the initial messages, the warnings will become increasingly severe until we are forced to take notice.
Energetic healing can also help identify “issues” before they manifest as pain or dis-ease in the physical body. It opens our consciousness to the areas we need to work through and heal, in order to bring our lives into balance and maintain health, harmony and vitality.
History
Quantum physics has acknowledged that we are all made up of energy. Everything around us is made up of energy. It is the most basic building block of life, but like the air we breathe most people can't see it. Energy flows through everything and creates everything. Even our thoughts and emotions are energy.
It is the different vibrations of energy (frequencies) that give us the illusion of substance and separation. Eg ice – water – steam. Ice represents the slower frequency resulting in a more solid illusion, through water, to steam representing the higher vibration.

What to expect
An initial consultation will last 90 mins, allowing a comprehensive client history to be noted.
As the therapy is mostly hands on, the client is required to lie on the treatment table, fully clothed. Treatment will depend on which specific areas of the body need focus, and the practitioner will ascertain this not only through your conversations, and requests, but also intuitively.
The treatment may involve guided visualisations or meditations and crystals may be placed on the body. In some cases flower essences may be suggested. In all cases, homework will be recommended. Amanda is keen to work with clients who want to take a proactive approach to their healing and wellbeing. We can certainly work on some of the issues during the session, but it is of the utmost importance to carry those learnings into your everyday life.
Regular energetic healing sessions are recommended. As with reiki, the benefits continue as you build on more sessions.

+ Reiki
Reiki means life force energy, and is a form of healing in which the boundless energy of the universe is channelled through the practitioner into the body of the receiver so as to enhance their energy supply and promote their body's innate capacity to heal itself.
By restoring the body's energy levels and encouraging self-healing Reiki can restore a state of harmony and well-being, and assist in healing emotional and physical dis-ease within the body.
History
In the late 1800's, Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese educator and meditation master, came up with the concept of modern Reiki called the Usui Reiki. When he was at Mt. Kurama attending a 21-day meditation course, he was able to open up his crown chakra. At this point, he successfully unleashed an insurmountable amount of energy. This led him to the discovery of Reiki and the use of symbols in relation to the universal life energy.
What he had rediscovered could be the same type of energy that was used by Tibetan monks centuries ago. When Dr. Usui left Mt. Kurama, he was inspired by this power and began teaching his students about it.
What to expect
The initial treatment is 90mins, allowing plenty of time to discuss why you have come to see me and what issues are bothering you at this present time. A detailed client history will be taken to better understand your background and needs.
Reiki is a hands on healing technique, so you will need to lie on a treatment table. However, if you are in too much pain to lie down, treatments can be given seated. The client remains fully clothed throughout the process and is free to stop the treatment at any stage.
The practitioner will intuitively know how long the treatment will last and will leave time for a discussion afterwards.

+ Bach Flower Remedies
Flower Essence is a therapy that has developed in response to the belief that illness, disease and dysfunction are a result of a person's state of mind and temperament.
Different essences are created out of various flowering plants and are often used by Homeopathic, Naturopathic, Acupressure, Acupuncture and other therapists as a component of a complete treatment. Their use restores emotional and physical balance according to their application.
History
The Bach Flower Remedies were developed by Dr Edward Bach, a Doctor and well-known Physician, Bacteriologist, Homeopath and Researcher. He believed that attitude of mind plays a vital role in maintaining health and recovering from illness.
He identified 38 basic negative states of mind and created a plant or flower based remedy for each one. Dr. Bach sought to find a safe, simple, and pure method of healing his patients which would take into consideration the individual mental and emotional makeup of their personalities. He found that specific flower essences stimulated self-healing in his patients by clearing the negative emotional factors that affected their state of health.
What to expect
The initial consultation will take 60 minutes as I take a brief client history to understand why you have come to see me. We will cover family history and whether or not the complaint has happened before. We will try to establish what the triggers are and exactly how the situation makes you feel. It is your outlook and your state of mind (both positive & negative) that we will work with.

+ Touch for Health
Touch for Health Kinesiology is a system of natural health care which combines muscle monitoring with the principles of Chinese medicine to assess energy and body function. A range of gentle, yet powerful healing techniques are applied to improve improve health, wellbeing and vitality.
Muscle monitoring allows the practitioner to identify any disturbed energy flows within the body – these could be structural, chemical, nutritional, mental, emotional or spiritual. This stress may manifest as a disease, an accident, poor nutritional or postural habits, an unresolved argument, personal trauma or crisis.
Most of the time the client has forgotten these stressful, disturbing situations; they have been pushed down into the subconscious. They only tend to come back into the clients consciousness when triggered by something (a memory, a situation, a comment) that matches the past experience.
Clients may not even remember these long forgotten incidents; the mind may not remember, but the body's memory does. Muscle monitoring allows these memories to be brought back on line, so that the practitioner and client can address them in the moment, and re-balance the body's energy systems.
In order to be in optimal health, we need to take an holistic approach to our lifestyles, our environment, our relationships and our thoughts. Consider your health an equilateral triangle. In order for you to be in optimal health, all sides should be equal. The three sides to the triangle represent, structural (ie physical aspects such as broken bones), chemical (the foods we eat, drugs, pollution, toxins) and mental (or emotional, what we think and feel). If any of these areas of our lives are "out of balance" our bodies will demonstrate that imbalance too.
History
Kinesiology was developed by Dr Goodheart in the 1960's. It is an exciting combination of proven techniques and principles from both Eastern and Western medicine, including chiropractic, Chinese medicine and the science of muscle movement.
Dr John Thie further developed a simpler process for the lay person, Touch For Health (TFH). Many practitioners use TFH as a systematic approach to balancing the body. It can also be used as an assessment tool, whereby other treatments are introduced

An initial treatment will last 90 minutes, in order for the practitioner to take a client history and establish what the client's needs are. The client remains fully clothed and will be asked to sit down, lie on the treatment table, or remain standing for the muscle testing. A series of movements will be demonstrated by the practitioner, which the client will follow. These are to establish that the body is giving the best possible energy signal and allows the client to "switch on" their own energy circuit.
The practitioner will demonstrate a few examples of how the procedure works and will ask for permission to continue. After that the client will be asked a number of questions and the practitioner will apply gentle pressure to the muscle being tested. Initially this muscle is most likely to be the arm. The client is able to stop the process at any stage. Time will be allowed at the end of the session for any questions and feedback.
