Hello and welcome to my autumn 2011 newsletter.
In the last newsletter we discussed how the summer holidays don't just relax you they push you to question many aspects of your life. Hopefully as we head into autumn, some of the questions for you have been answered. You're hopefully feeling a little more grounded and a lot more insightful. If you're not quite there, please consider a chakra balancing session with me that can help to scrape off the old energetic gunk and allow some clarity into your lives.
The nights are drawing in, and mentally we've started to prepare for hibernation. We're probably being a little more relaxed with our diet; a few extra treats may be finding their way to our mouths and the dark mornings have probably left most of us snuggling in bed rather than going for the usual walk or run. For those of us who feel we are losing control; of our diets; our exercise regimes; our waistbands and our discipline, it's not too late to reassess the important disciplines that we wish to take with us into autumn.
Now is a good time to reflect on your gratitude list from January and check in to see if the same things are still relevant. If you haven't given the list another thought since you wrote it, now is the perfect time to do so. Remember, where your thoughts go – energy flows...
I have been developing my skills since we last met and I have a powerful new technique to help you get to the source of an emotional pain. As I am still practising with this technique, I would love to open it up for you to join me for a session for just $30. The session will run for between 60 – 90mins, depending on what comes up for you and how deep you allow yourself to go. I have used this with a number of clients so far and all have left feeling lighter and more connected. This is a genuine offer – I really do need to practice on as many people as possible and you would be more than welcome to book in a session.
Great news is that I have now moved to Wednesday evenings at clinic. Wednesdays seem to be a much more auspicious day for healing (it is hump day afterall). For those of you who still prefer Mondays, we can certainly discuss options.
Once again a big thank you to all my clients for your continued support. Until next time.
Amanda
PS the greatest compliment I could receive is for you to pass my details to someone else in need.

Hello and welcome to my summer 2011 newsletter.
No doubt you've just had a relaxing or testing time with family and loved ones. You've probably over indulged and on your return to work/school/normality you are questioning your role in life.
You may be questioning recent decisions, your job, your relationship or your health. You may have written a list of new year's resolutions. You may well have dropped one or two off the list already.
The new year is a wonderful time to shed our old cloak; all the thoughts, habits, patterns that we wish to leave behind in the old year can be done at this time. Rather than the traditional new year's resolution list, destined for failure. Why not set aside some time in the new year and set about writing 3 lists for yourself and the dreams you have for 2011.
List one is a gratitude list, which most of my clients are already familiar with. You simply write all those wonderful things, moments, people, places etc in your life that you are grateful for. Write the large, significant things and the small ones too. We understand the concept of manifestation through energy, focus on that for which you are grateful and it will increase.
NB while we are on the subject of energy manifestation try not to focus on all that is wrong in your life. Negative energy flows in exactly the same way as the positive stuff and you may find you end up with much more to complain about.
The 2nd list is the Leave it behind in 2010 list. And as the title suggests, this is the list of all those people, places, situations, health issues, angry words etc that you wish to leave behind in 2010 and have no intention of bringing with you into the new year. This list could be burnt (in a careful and controlled way), or simply written, re-read and ripped up and but in the bin. The 3rd list is the one where you have the chance to make a list of all the things you wish to bring into in 2011. This may include good health, abundance, a new relationship or job, or whatever yuo wish to manifest for yourself in 2011. Remember this is your list, not anybody else's. These are your intentions for 2011.
Then keep the 1st list in a safe place, where you can refer to it if you need to. Destroy the 2nd list and if you are able to find a good spot for the 3rd, stick it up somewhere prominent, eg the fridge, bathroom mirror, back of the bedroom door – somewhere that you will be able to see it often and remind yourself of your intentions.
I usually recommend a particular Bach Flower Remedy just now in the newsletter, but at this time of year there are many that are useful. Of course they all depend on your own circumstance, so if you are feeling particularly low, or out balance at the moment, I would recommend a 30 or 60 minute Consultation. And for regular clients, I will include the 1st treatment bottle free of charge* when you mention this newsletter.
It is just coming up to my 2nd anniversary at Art of Health and I would like to send out a big thank you for all the clients who have supported me over this time. Starting a new small business is definitely an interesting journey in itself, and without you I wouldn't be able to do what I do.
That said if you know of anyone; a friend, colleague or family member that might need to, or like to come and see me, please pass on my details. As you know everything is discussed in complete confidence. And as a thank you for your support. You will receive 15% off your next treatment every time a new client is referred to me.
Until next time

Hello and welcome to my Q3 newsletter for 2010.
When I was considering what topic to choose for this newsletter, it dawned on me that there is a pattern emerging with my clients currently. And it is this information that I want to share with you just now.
Last month, all my clients appeared to be making great progress. Most of them secretly thought they wouldn't need to see me anymore, but booked in for 1 last appointment anyway; a little like a pre-holiday check-up.
3 weeks on for each of them and it appears that their lives, individually, have taken a dip. Nothing too extreme, but the sparkle in their eye during our last session has dimmed. The spring in their step has slowed and the confidence in their resolve has weakened.
Why?
Is it because it's winter?
Does the treatment need to change?
Or is it that the very issue they have been working through has simply reared its ugly head again. Just when they thought they had conquered the unwanted pattern, the negative trait, it became an issue again.
At this point along, everyone's healing journey there are 2 options for action.
1) Revert to type. In an instant you forget how far you've come. You forget all the new tools and techniques you have at your disposal and you forget that those thought patterns/actions no longer serve. You panic. In that moment you believe you've learnt nothing new. That nothing has changed. X is still a big problem and you have failed. You may get angry/depressed. You may wallow in self pity, you may re-kindle all sorts of negative patterns like the old days.
2) Take a deep breath. And calmly remember all that you have learnt, and how far you have come. Take some time out and reflect on your journal – see this situation for what it is... A challenge to you learning. And above all else believe that you have changed. You have learnt how to deal with this and rather than revert to type – you will work through this. In any event, nothing will change if we continue to tackle it in the same way over and over.
I encourage all my clients at this point of their treatment to take a deep breath and go with option 2. Fear is natural during times of transition, particularly if a habit/way of life has been ingrained over a period of time. Energetic Healing and Bach Flower Remedies help people through moments of self doubt. In fact the treatments get people to this stage. They help people take control of their own lives, their own healing.
Expect to be challenged.
Don't manifest it, and don't fear its' arrival. Just be prepared for it and trust that you have done enough to learn this lesson and move on to the next one.
You are stronger than you imagine.
There are a number of Bach Flower Remedies that can help you through this challenging time. If you haven't tried Bach Flowers yet, I have a special offer currently. Just book a 30 minute BF session with me and receive a relaxing, rejuvenating Energetic Healing session (also for 30mins) at the same time, absolutely free.
Thanks for reading my newsletter, I hoped it came at the right time for you and offered some insights into your own healing journey.
Take care until next time.

Hello and welcome to my second quarterly newsletter.
I cannot believe how quickly this year is flying past. Already we have said hello and goodbye to Easter and we are hurtling towards winter. If you are feeling that your life has picked up pace, that more often than not you are feeling out of control and overwhelmed by the sheer volume of "stuff" you have to do... you are not alone.
The change of season, with the evening's drawing in, makes this the perfect time to curl up on the sofa with a new book. Choose one that speaks to you about living in the now. Something that allows you to develop an understanding of living in the now. Never mind what's on the list of things to do tomorrow at work. Or the fact that the fridge is running low or that you haven't been to the gym this week. Stop. Take a breath. And just Be.
Whether it's Eckhart Tolle's Living in the Now, or a Buddhist monks, version if XXX. This would be a great accompaniment to the dark evenings.
Meditation is one of the best ways to focus on the now and the good news is you don't have to be as disciplined as a Buddhist monk, to try it. You could simply go for a walk in nature; at the beach, or in the bush and just walk slowly and purposefully. Feel the sensation of the heel of your foot touching the ground, then the ball of your foot. Be aware of your breathing and the sounds around you. Do not speak, and when the monkey chatter in your brain begins, try to gently squeeze it out, so that it becomes just you and your surroundings in this perfect moment on the planet. Ps it's best to go alone to avoid the temptation of catching up on any gossip.
Another simple practice to become more focussed in the now is to turn off the TV and have your meal, at the table, alone. Removing all external stimuli like, books, music or the newspaper allows you to concentrate on the food; the tastes, the sensations, the experience. Savour each mouthful slowly, close your eyes and really feel what you are doing. Remember we eat to nourish our body, mind and soul and it is surprisingly relaxing to sit in silence and fully experience the moment.
The Bach Flower Remedy I would recommend for all of us who are experiencing absolute overwhelm this quarter is ELM. When we feel we have taken on more than we can cope with, when we feel overwhelmed by our responsibilities, this remedy can help. People who need Elm are normally very capable, in fact so capable that they take on far too much. It is not until something goes wrong that they stop and realise exactly how much they are doing and lose confidence in their ability. They can become tired and depressed. With the help of Elm they will soon bounce back with their old resilience and confidence.
Last quarter's special offer of a free 30 min Energetic Healing session with every Bach Flower Consultation was so popular, I've decided to extend it through this newsletter too.
The last thing I would like to share with you is the importance of keeping a journal. In the last newsletter we talked about setting realistic goals and realistic time lines. How will you be able to assess just how far you've come if you don't remember where you have come from? Journaling is a wonderful way to keep track of your life; how you feel, what you've experienced and what you've achieved. I hope your New Year's Resolutions are still in full swing and have even become a natural part of your daily life now. Keep it up.
And please remember, if you know of anyone who could benefit from a treatment with me, pass on my details and when they book an appointment, you will receive an extra 30 min session (of your choice) with me as a thank you.
Until next time,
Amanda

Thought of the month
Your earthly body is the most precious gift you will ever have. Treat it with respect; nourish it well, maintain it wisely, and above all, love it completely.
Hello and welcome to my first e-newsletter. It's been just over 1 year since I started in clinic and I would like to thank all of my clients for your ongoing support! Without you, my practice would not exist – Thankyou.
The New Year is a special time, it enables us to take a good look at what we like and don't particularly like about our lives. It encourages us to make improvements, to become better individuals and to set and aim for our goals. The New Year is a time when many resolutions are set, some often too adventurous, that they do not make it past the end of January. Others, we pick up and carry with us through the summer months and beyond.
Make sure you set yourselves reasonable goals for this New Year. Remember the only way to eat an elephant...is in bite sized pieces.
• Be realistic – if your diary is already chock-a-block full, can you really increase your gym regime by 50%?
• Be specific – make a list of 3-5 changes that you intend to make and put time lines against them.
• A poor example would be 'to become more confident'. This doesn't really imply how you'll do it and by when. It is therefore, unlikely to be fulfilled.
• A good example is 'To become more confident at work...'
- by volunteering for an extra project this first quarter
- by speaking up at every team meeting
- by allocating 1 hour/month to learn from more experienced team members
- by reading the Quarterly Newsletter in fullIf you have realistic timelines set, you will be able to gauge your successes throughout the year.
What if you're trying to break a habit, improve a routine, do more of this and less of that but always make the same errors? Bach Flower Remedies can help. What if you set realistic goals but somehow tend to repeat the same old resolutions each year with no positive effect? Do you find yourself repeating the same old patterns time and again?
This month's Bach Flower Remedy
Chestnut Bud for those with a tendency to not learn from past mistakes.
Chestnut Bud can be taken on it's own or with up to 6 other remedies, depending what else is going on for you at the moment.
Positive
• Keenly observant of mistakes
• Gains knowledge and wisdom from experience
• Watches and learns from othersNegative
• Takes a long time to learn by experience – sometimes fails to do so.
• Repeats making the same error.
• Compulsive repetition of what has already been told.
• Tries to forget the past but has no guide to help now or in the future. A pitiful situation until mistakes are recognised and thus avoided.Dr Bach wrote: "The Remedy is to help us to take full advantage of our daily experiences, and to see ourselves and our mistakes as other do. Dictionary of the Bach Flower Remedies TW Hyne Jones 1994.
